Help
Catching things
- Bugs wander over to you because your nectar smells good.
- When one is inside your trap, tap anywhere to spring it.
- Tap with nothing in there and your trap is shut for a moment, doing nothing.
- A trap with something in it is digesting and can't catch anything else.
Getting bigger
- Digesting gives you minerals. Bigger bugs give more.
- When you have enough, the Evolve screen appears and you choose what to become.
- What you choose changes how you play, so pick the way you like hunting.
Staying alive
- Bugs sitting on you bite, and your health drops. Watch the heart at the top.
- Every plant can spit acid from its mouth. It kills a bug on the spot and you still get its minerals.
- An acid kill counts on the wave tab too, exactly like eating one.
- Eating something puts a little health back.
- If your health runs out, your plant wilts.
Waves
- Wave 1 asks you to deal with five. Every wave after that wants three more than the last, and more bugs turn up to match.
- Every fifth wave — 5, 10, 15, 20 — sends a giant beetle instead, and each one is bigger than the last.
- It is far too big to swallow. The only way to beat it is acid, and it takes several hits.
What opens up when
- You start with the plain ones: a wider mouth, sweeter nectar, growing larger, sharper senses.
- Past wave 5: quicker reflexes, stronger juices, tougher leaves, deeper roots.
- Past wave 20: your plant's own special power, hunting roots, and stronger spit.
- Past wave 30: leaf walls. Two thick leaves either side of you that crawling things have to chew through first. Your hunting roots wait outside them.
Your own special power
- Every plant has one power that only it can evolve.
- Once you have it, a button appears in the corner.
- It reaches much further than your mouth does — but then it needs a long rest.
- If nothing is in range it won't fire, so you can't waste the wait.
A sundew catches by being sticky, so it works differently from the rest.
